The Tennessee Employment Lawyers Association is an authorized affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association, the largest group of plaintiff employment lawyers in the country. We are a group of attorneys dedicated to eradicating employment discrimination in all its forms from the workplace and are constantly seeking to influence the law to better protect workers' rights.

BLACK LIVES MATTER STATEMENT

TENNELA stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. We stand against the racial injustice which has most recently cost the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, as well as countless others before them. We are deeply saddened and mourn for the loss of these individuals. We mourn for their families and those traumatized by recent events.

As employment lawyers, civil rights lawyers, and anti-discrimination lawyers, we fight against the discrimination and injustice that is still very prevalent in the US. We will remain vigilant in our fight for racial justice in the workplace, on the streets, and elsewhere.

We cannot remain silent. We heed the words of the great civil rights attorney and Supreme Court justice Thurgood Marshall: "Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country. This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on." We encourage you to let your voice be heard, in small or large ways, through attending protests, being a protest witness, writing, running for office and talking with your friends, family, church, clubs, and organizations about social justice and ending racial oppression.
